My 1996 Nissan Altima has been having problems with its speed sensor for two years now. I kept getting it replaced to no avail. Sometimes the check engine light comes on and off. Also, my speedometer needle does not go up when I accelerated only when I am goin at least 35 miles per hour. I hear Nissans have a tendency to have electrical problems. I don't know what to do. Should I replace the speed sensor, it doesn't do any good.

instead of replacing the sensor have it checked for a faulty short in the connection and/or the gears that turn the sensor inside the tranny. The "check engine"will turn on because it needs that sensor input. good luck

You would act up too if someone took you from your home and brought you to a strange place. It's obvious your car longs to leave the United States and see the motherland again.
