That depends;

Is the floating rope up between the shallow and deep parts? If it is then just tell the whining not-your-spawn he can go in for 10 minutes only.

Is it suppertime? Give the kid a raw steak to gnaw on in the pool too. This COULD be the first day of the rest of your life..........

How did a gator get in your pool anyway. However I wouldn't let my kid go in a pool with a gator no matter what. And Add is just an excuse that some people use to get what they want. You could try to put some kind of poison in the pool and kill the gator or get out a gun and shoot the thing.

Technically you should call animal control first. Second, throw in a live cow, the gator will eat it, then go to sleep. Third, let the kid swim after the gator has eaten the cow, or call the kids mom to come get him and let her deal with it like most men do.

Let him swim. Just keep your fingers crossed that the gator doesn't wake up. He'll stop whining no matter what.

Just let him swim. If the gator eats him, then it's an even trade. Now you have a pet alligator.

I laugh because I know you can't be serious. Only someone really demented would let a kid swim in a pool with an alligator in it...

If the kid is bad, let him go. You'll get peace and quiet, maybe forever. Just don't be surprised if your wife wants a divorce.
