The point should be this, when you sit down to play a game of cards, it's simply rude to be chatting with someone else or working at your job where you have to go away and come back. When the others at the table are trying to play a game, it's just not be a nice person to chat on messenger.
Everyone can understand that the phone rings, or the kid needs you, etc., but to sit down and play a game of cards and chat on messenger and keep other waiting is just rude and often turns mean spirited.
I agree that mostly this happens in the social rooms, some people have the notion that "Social Lounge" means to socialize elsewhere while you play. It's too bad because some folks in the intermediate and advanced take it so seriously, it's hard to have fun sometimes.
