Buy from someone with a high percentage of positive feedback (98% or more) and with at least 500 feedbacks. Read what the negative feedback comments were, and what they left those people in return. It will tell you a lot about a seller. Also look at the items that others have left them feedback for selling; if the seller has positive feedback on phones, that's a good indication. Only buy domestically, and never send a check or money order. Always use paypal. That way, there is proof you have paid, and a simple way to get your money back if you don't receive the item.

I am a big ebay shopper and I find that if you look at the sellers profile and see the feedback left for that seller it helps, also look for power sellers, i dont buy from sellers with low sells, also look at all the fine print and make sure the item you bid on is really an item and not just a pic or a book about the item that is one mistake i made when i first became an ebayer, if you need more pointers just ask,

probably the most important thing is to look at the seller's rating. go for something 99 and above.
Make sure you look at every picture and read everything in the description. Check on shipping costs and feel free to ask the seller any questions you need to.
Also keep in mind, that once you bid, you can not lower your bid or take it back.
i've bought plenty of things on ebay and never once had a problem
have fun!

Ive sold numerous phones and bought some on ebay.
Number 1: It should list the esn (electronic serial number of the phone) You then need to contact your cell phone company and check to see if phone is able to be activated.
Also check out phonescoop.com and research phone you are intending on buying.
Number 2: check the sellers feedback score and history.
If it all checks out to be fine buy the phone.

take a look at their ratings score. click on it and read other customers comments. don't go just on the rating alone because the rating could be mostly from them buying. you want to see what the comments are fro people who have bought from them. If there is time ask the seller questions about the product, that really helps you to know what type of person you are dealing with.
good luck...but be-careful...eBay is addictive!

check the seller's feedback rating, and read some of the feedback. i recently bought a cellphone on ebay, brand new-have had no problems at all. also make sure the phone is "unlocked" as you will usually have to pay a fee to get it unlocked.

One word. Feedback. Yea, feedback. Click in on the number after the sellers ID. Example..... lucyloo (467) You want to click in on that number 467. This will tell you if they are honest or not. Clicking in on that number shows you everything they have sold or bought over the last year. Whether they are good sellers or not.

make sure the phone is compatible with your system, (verizon - unicell- sprint etc.) and that they are unlocked. Most phone systems are going to require a e-911 and gps system built in so dont go with a older phone. On E-Bay they also give you a system to check and see if the phone is compatible with your area, if not don't buy.
