I've noticed that mjy radiator is leaking badly from the top, i can see the spot, so i know i need to get a new radiator. I was talking to one of my car friends, and he said to check if the fans turn on, and i just checked and they didn't turn on. I located the fuses for them, but i don't know how to check them, they are big box things that you can't see through. Do you think the fuses are the problem? What else should i check? How do i figure out if those big fuses are the problem? because i can't see through them. oh and the temperature reading on my dashboard has been normal, it still gives me the same reading that i have always had.

The easiest way to check the fuses is to use a jumper wire. Take about 8-12 inches of scrap wire, expose both ends and leave the insulation on the rest. Remove the fuse you want to check and put the exposed ends of the wire into the holes for the fuse. If the fan comes on, you know you need a new fuse.

Good luck.

Hotwire the fans to the ignition switch so they come on when you turn the car on using the heavy wire on the ignition harness. If the radiator is boiling over, it's because the fans aren't working and you are driving in the city. If the radiator is leaking you'll have to get another. To help slow the loss of collant, you can loosen the cap to the 1/2 way lock and it will remove pressure from the cooling system. This will get you buy for a short time. Get the fans working and don't let your car run out of coolant. Keep 2 gallons of water with you at all times and fix your radiator quick. Good luck.

Get a new radiator installed. I would suggest a radiator shop. they can do it much quicker and cheaper than a regular mechanic shop. If you are handy, you can do it yourself, its not that hard. The fan comes on only when the water temp reaches a certain level, or if the air conditioner is turned on. Alot of radiators these days are made of plastic and they rupture easily, which may be your case. When they do that, you know you need a new radiator cap, so make sure u get a new one with the radiator.

the fans are controlled "temperature switch" next to the thermostat housing which tells the computer the engine temp and makes the decision of turning them off and on via a relay. Now we know that the motors do work when you used the A/C.replace the radiator ,temp-switch ,and relay they are over ten year old. good luck
