If your TV has a big button on the front try that, if it doesn't work try looking for the channel control buttons and pushing them as some TVs require input to come out of standby mode.
If all else fails buy another remote!

If you don't know how to turn a tv on without the remote than you have bigger problems than no tv. And what will you do when you get it on, ask how to change the channels?

Go stand up and press 'power' on the tv! there are buttons on the tv on the front!! How can you not know?!?!!?

those little buttons on the front of the tv, the one that says power, press that button and watch magic happen
