buy one from someone with a 98 plus percentage selling items. always get insurance for the item cause if you get an item without insurance they really dont have to send it and get your money and rip you off and they can say that it got lost in the mail. have had that happened to me twice. good luck. and read make sure item works and in working condition.

Ok, I have bought several phones on ebay so I might be able to help. first of all you've got to match your service provider with the phone. Like if you have Verizon then you gotta make sure you buy a phone that was made for Verizon-- check the item description carefully. As for the phone, the main thing you have to avoid is buying a stolen phone. If you take a stolen phone in to Verizon or whatever to get activated then they'll just confiscate it and you're out of luck. If it has been reported as stolen. I heard that you can get the ID # from the seller, and check it with your service provider, but I've never actually done this myself. I know some ppl that tried this but the service provider wasn't helpful. My thoughts are that you should never buy phones that don't have a charger. Phones that are stolen usually don't have chargers with them. Go for phones that still have the box and accessories & the charger. Look for the reason why the seller is selling it: did he get a better one? Is the phone used and how many hours are on it? Does it "feel" honest o r does it look suspicious? Check the seller's rating and the kinds of items he sells. Watch out for refurbished or repaired phones. My last requirement is the refund policy...it should have some kind of guarantee on it. LIke I said I have gotten some great deals on cell phones and never had a problem with them! good luck

First of all, see what other cell phones like yours have sold for. You can do this by clicking on 'advanced search' under the search box and then by clicking on 'completed items only'. Next, check the feedback from the person you wish to buy your phone from. If they have 100% positive feedback, or close to it, then you should be safe. Also, see if they have a return policy in their listing. All these ideas should keep you from getting 'ripped off'. If you pay thru paypal, they have a 'dispute console' that can help you if you do get ripped off, and in most cases will get your money refunded.

a few things to look out for would be to make sure the phone is not locked, my phone for eg can not be used with another sim card ever. make contact with the seller first, generally more than once, this to see there response time and to get to know the seller as much as possible with ebay, make sure you get all the info you ask for, if they leave something out then forget them, also check their feedback. good luck

I would make sure that the seller had a return policy. I have had great experience's with ebay and a few bad. Before you buy from a seller look at his positive feedback and make sure he/she is a powerseller.

READ everything. If you want something new, make sure it says that it is new or NIB (new in box). Also, make sure you calculate the shipping costs in your purchase. If you only want to spend $60 and shipping is $10, then don't bid more than $50.
Also read the reviews of the seller.

My dad swears by Consumer Reports.
Also, check the seller's rating and read some comments about him/her before you place a bid.
I bid you well. :)
