Hey joe, ya lost us there. What do AM radio talk shows and watching a space shuttle leave the earths atmosphere through a Wal-Mart telescop have to do with each other?

well, there are a lot of reasons. Some of the evidence that they use though, is that A) the background seems to be all the same B) the flag is waving as if in a breeze, although there is no atmosphere and thus no breeze on the moon , and C) the cross hairs in the picture seem to disappear behind the astronaouts, as if they were added in later. There are other reasons, too, but I don't remember those. Now: to debunk those..... A)the moon does basically look the same all over, it simply is not diverse like Earth is, there are no diverse conditions acting upon it on different areas of the planet and also because the same area is probably also the best landing spot. There is no atmosphere, thus no climate changes or life to support aor weather of any kind whatsoever to alter the landscape; the only thing acting upon the surface are the astroids and comets that hit is as it defends Earth, but which are almost all on the other side of the moon, on the dark side if it, which is a worse spot to land for physics reasons. There is also only one other makor difference, the Mara and non-Mara, the Mara is newer material brought up from the core when the big cator at the bottom of the moon was created and the core was still active, so i's denser and filled in the existing craters if the time and thus smoother. B)the flag is waving because the astronaout is twisting the pole that the flag is connected to, causing the flag to wave because there is less gravity and atmosphere and thus less friction or other dampners on its movements - basic physics again people. C) the crosshairs aren't seen in front of the astronauts because the astronauuts are in white suits and the cross hairs are tiny little black lines, so due to characteristics of light, they white color pretty much overwhelms it i suppose is the bbest way to say it, it also has to do with the way that we record and see light. I don't intend to sound condescending if it came out that way, sorry guys :] ;p

There is a large differencebetween watching the shuttle leave the atomosphere and seeing the moon landing in the sixties. There are a lot of anomolies in the films and pictures that they "took on the moon".
Not enough to disprove it, but enough that it looks, sounds and feels faked like it was staged on a set.
You have to remember we were in a space race with a lot of other nations. We had to be first on the moon regardless of faked or not.
Since we have the technology now, and actually can go to the moon and into extended periods of orbit on space stations its no big deal anymore.
the same goes for yesterday as it does for today.Just because it is on a tape or movie reel doesnt make it real even if it looks real.

My childhood friend said he was going to buy a telescope "powerful enough to see the moon buggy", but since then I've learned no amateur telescope is THAT powerful. Apparently, not even Hubble can do it.

So the amateur telescope hobbyists apparently did not see anything clear enough to prove or disprove the moon landing was a hoax.

People like to believe conspiracy theories.

Try the explanations from both perspectives on the web site linked below - it's my general reference for anyone that asks about the topic, since I teach Astronomy.

What people think were anomalies in the photo's and video are really things that can be explained if you know a little bit of science and have half a brain. That, however, doesn't stop some people from thinking the world is flat, either....

By the way too, www.badastronomy.com has GREAT information about good astronomy too...

Amateur telescope hobbyists had telescopes powerful enough to witness the landing on the moon? I don't think that anyone (Including NASA) today have a telescope capable of doing that.

this idea of the hoax has been debunked so many times (from photographic, video and other evidence) that it's surprising that people still think the whole thing was made up. It think some ppl are very paranoid... it's some kind of psychotic condition. They don't trust anyone, especially the government.

Because some of the photo's from the moon landings have been taken with the same backdrop but in so called different locations on the moon from different landings.
