my hubby installed our dishwasher. it doesn't drain well or at all! after a wash, there's yellow chunky water at the bottom of the washer :(
he thinks it may be a drain pipe not long enough to allow the water to drain?? my hubby is going to call a "professional" to take care of the prob, i was just wondering if anybody else had had this problem after a DIY washer install.
thanks, i hope i explained everything :)

If he had to hook the drain hose to a garbage disposer, there is a knock out plug that need to be knocked out completely.
If the hose went up to an air gap, which is mounted on the top rim of the sink, pull the chrome cover off the top and see if it is stopped up.

Hope it helps.

Sounds like the drain is sucking back into the dish washer. When the drain line leaves the dishwasher it should be clamped up high under the cabinet above where it goes into the drain other wise the water will syphon back into the dish washer. I install many of these. Check that hose and look at your instruction book before you call someone. Simple fix . Bud

Typically the drain connects to the garbage disposal. If he did this I would bet he didn't remove the knockout plug in the disposal. Just disconnect and remove the drain from disposal and stick your finger in drain to see if it is removed. If not, take a screwdriver and bang it with a hammer. Then remove the blank plug from inside garbage disposal.Good luck...

he may have the hose kinked when he pushed it back in. you can unhook the drain, place it in a large bucket, then turn it on and see if it is draining well. if not check where it is hooked up to.
