Anyway to get rid of a moustache with a lit match? Or another safe way? I tried this waxing crap from Sally Hansen and it didn't work. My mother does this match trick but I can't really replicate it.

Not a match alone, but with a wax stick and a match. You have to be careful that you don't burn your fingers holding the match or lighter. (My least favorite way)
My advice, spend the $15 and have it done at a salon, then maintain it by using a lip buffer - this thing you can buy that's almost like an emoryboard for your face. When you use it it twists the hairs up until they either break off or pull out.
