I know this isn't what you want to hear but be glad you don't tan. I've been a sun worshipper for years and I get really dark, but I have damanged my skin alot. My Mom has never had a tan in her whole life and her skin looks better than mine. She's 61 and I'm 45. She tryed to tell me when I was younger that I would regret getting a tan every summer but I wouldn't listen to her. Now I wish I had. (Tanning beds are just as bad, if not worse, than the sun)

I suffered the same fate as you, but now I am so glad that I never became a sun worshiper because I am wrinkle free and not worried about skin cancer. Some people just naturally tan more than others. Why do you feel it necessary to be tan?
If you think that tan is beautiful then why not just use one of the self tannng cosmetics or as someone I knew who used iodine and baby oil, which caused him to look tan. But in general I wouldn't worry about not being able to tan, there are much more problems in life that your going to have to face.

I would just lay out in the sun a couple hours then always re-apply. I too am fair skinned but I burn and then I somewhat tan. Granted that my somewhat tan is pretty light it makes me happy. I wouldn't go into tanning booths or fake tan, Fake tans are just not going to do it for me at least. i hope you get what you are looking for. ask your dermatologist if your skin can handle a burn then tan.

Some skin is simply not going to tan well. I would recommend trying one of the gradual self-tanning lotions, such as Jergens. After a few days, you will begin to see a nice, healthy natural color emerge.
