No, it is not possible to have a normal menstrual period when there is a viable gestation in utero. Some women may have bleeding that they THINK is a period, but it is not. That type of bleeding is sometimes indicative of a miscarriage. Note the color of the blood, if it is brown, it is considered "old blood" and may not affect the pregnancy. If it is bright red, I would seek the attention of a physician as soon as possible. The best way to determine early pregnancy is to go to your doctor and ask for a Quantiative Beta HCG blood test. This test is the definitive test to find out if there is a pregnancy or not, and will tell you approximately how far along you are.

Highly unlikely. you can experience spotting during pregnancy, but if you are having a regular menstrual flow...it is very unlikely that you have a viable preganancy. Pregnancy creates hormones that cause the uterine wall to fill with vascularity, so you don't bleed and a mucous plug forms in the cervix. No pregnancy, no hormones, you bleed.

Ok...first, you should have used a condom. Second, bleeding during pregnancy does happen, it is called spotting. If you are bleeding a lot, seek help. Try a home pregnancy test.

Initially you would miss a period and have implantation bleeding. Afterwards some women do experience periodlike bleeding throughout their entire pregnancy, which is normal for them.
