No, it is not possible to have a normal menstrual period when there is a viable gestation in utero. Some women may have bleeding that they THINK is a period, but it is not. Pregnancy creates hormones that cause the uterine wall to fill with vascularity, so you don't bleed and a mucous plug forms in the cervix. No pregnancy, no hormones, you bleed.
