I have had the contraceptive implant since December 2005, before which I used contraceptive injections for 6 months. I havent had a period since my first injection, so its now over a year! Is this normal, anyone have an idea when they will start again?

Its an excellent contraceptive, I would recommend it to anyone. This is my only problem area!

Perfectly normal. I didn't have a period for 18 months after the implant, then I had them for the next 18 months.They may not start back up until the implant is removed.

Ive not had a period since having the implant its normal your doctor should have explained this before giving you the implant/injection.

this is normal. both of my daughters have a contraceptive implant. if u do have a period on the implant, it is usually very light. i guess they will start again when the implant is removed. well done for being sensible and using a good contraceptive.

I really don't know but maybe you should go and see your doctor about it because it sounds too me that your worried and to rest your mind, ask your doctor. I don't know much about the implant or injection but i know a lot about the pills. But the best thing to do is ring your doctor up for advice or ring nhs direct up and ask them.

oh dear, i bled for a month on that thing. But befire that i didint have a period for two and a half years. 6 months after i had mine in. Its normal, but stock up on the tampax over the next two years and be ready!

oh i didnt bleed for 2 yrs after the injection lasted a year i never went back and didnt come on at all
