It would have been better if they allowed Quentin Tarantino direct it. After all he wrote it (story). However he sold it and the rights to True Romance so he could make Reservior Dogs.
The movie was good in my opinion but not Oliver Stone's best.
Tommy Lee Jones was great as the warden, and Rodney Dangerfield was amazing as an out of character abusive father. Really terrifying.

I loved that movie. Great study in the media portrayal of violence.
I also have a soft spot for that movie coz when I saw it, i knew about 3/4 of the audience in the theatre. Good times.

It is a great satryrical movie. Its not meant for the weak hearted or those with weak stomachs. As a matter of fact, its not meant for people with too many morals eaither. But its a beautiful thing.

I did. At first I thought, "Oh my God, I don't know if I can handle this movie" but soon after, I realized it was indeed worth watching and I found it unforgettable. A thumb's up!

Excellent movie.
And trust me, it IS about the violence and killing, that was the whole point of it.

I didn't care for it. It was a useless waste of celluloid IMO.
