Like I said before I'm 18wks and hardly showing at all???? Just a little bit poochy down low, and sometimes it comes and goes, bigger at different times? Is that a bad sign. The last time I saw my doc at 16wks he said that's how far along I felt and things were going fine. I want to show before my baby shower at the beginning of Oct??? Thanks

I think that things are fine...different women "show" in different ways ...depends on your genetics and how your body is built. I know you are anxious to "look" pregnant but I would try being a little more laid back and not so nervous about it. Enjoy your pregnancy. At 18-20 weeks you should be feeling the baby move around ...concentrate on that to tell you if things are alright. I would say that by October you should be showing enough to allow people to KNOW you are pregnant and if not...just relax ....your body won't be so out of shape after the pregnancy and maybe you won't suffer the backaches and swollen ankles some women get...there is a silver lining to be found in every situation. The only thing that really matters is your health and the baby's health.

I wish you the best of luck on your pregnancy, but the way.

I will mention that I am 21 weeks pregnant and was showing right from the beginning though this is my first. I know that is uncommon. Some days I show more than others and some outfits enhace by belly's roundness and some enhance its smoothness.
My sister-in-law is also pregnant, but she's a good 14 weeks ahead of me. She and my brother came out to California to visit the family 4 weeks ago and she and I were the same size!
Granted... I'm 5'4" and she's 5'9", but belly size was equal.
From everything I've heard it depends on the pregnancy as well as the person.

When you start to feel anxious, remind yourself that the doctor does know best and the fact that you are growing at a normal rate is what you want to hear. You want a healthy baby, not a BIG baby.
Enjoy it, baby's going to start moving more and more!!! Then you'll not only show, but you'll show sometimes on this side... and sometimes on that side.... ;-)

You will show, when your body is ready to. I was 7 months pregnant at a party where everyone else was a doctor and nobody could tell I was pregnant. I was skinny and the baby just didn't show. When she was born she was exactly 8 pounds and completely healthy. If you have good abdonimal muscles, they will hold your uterus in closer to your body and it may take a while to show. Trust me, by the end of the pregnancy you will be wishing your belly was still tiny. The changing size of your belly, sometimes coming and going, is just the baby moving into different positions. You will almost undoubtedly be showing in time for october.

I appreciate that you want to show but this is really not up to you, I did not show until I was about 7 months then all of the sudden I looked like I was ten months pregnant! Just depends on the way your baby grows, if the doc says everything is fine then just enjoy it!

the getting a little bit bigger than smaller is weird, but you are one lucky person to be that far along and not be showing that much. But i can still undrstand you want to show off the belly for the shower, i would too. good luck

You have another 8 weeks to go before your shower so that will put you at 26 weeks. Unless you're pretty overweight you will be showing. Every woman is different so don't worry about it. Just listen to your doctor.

I was 5mths when I started showing with my 1st and 4mths with the 2nd. It does depend on if 1st pregnancy or not, amount of fluid and a lot of other factors. If your not showing don't worry. You don't need to show. You'll be glowing that's for sure.

I was the same way, I didn't show until I was 7 months and it was like I blew up overnight. Don't worry, it's normal, and you will show eventually.

Good luck and congrats!

that's normal. Your doctor knows whats going on by the ultrasound he does. And trust me...your going to wish soon that you had that small belly. Congrats and good luck

You will show soon enough but you are still perfectly normal.
