If you saw this magazine cover at the supermarket or on the table at a doctor's office would you pick it up and read it or cover your eyes and flip it over? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14065706/

Just to clarify, this doesn't offend me. I'm a breastfeeding mom. If you read the article attached to the picture you will see that a lot of people were offended by it. That's why I asked.

I think it's a beautiful picture. This is one of the most natural things, feeding your child. I'm a breastfeeding mother and I can't stand it when people think it is a "dirty thing" to breastfeed a child. There are so many healthy reason to breastfeed.
I remember before I had my daughter seeing a picture in a magazine that was in the sepia tone. The baby was getting ready to latch on and he/she was looking up at the mother (you couldn't see the mother's face). I remember thinking how beautiful it was. Even though you could see her nipple I didn't think that it was pornographic or sick. It was absolutely beautiful. I even FEEL beautiful when I breastfeed my daughter. It's just wonderful all the way around.

it wouldn't offend me, but I would be offended if it was out in the open for children and prepubescent boys to look at. You know exactly what a 12 year old boy would be thinking seeing a boob on the cover of a magazine.

Edit: I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way. I see nothing wrong with it. I'm a mom after all. It's the fact the preteen boys and pedophiles would be thinking something totally opposite.

Yay! I was so psyched to see this cover! I recently had a nasty experience at the beach while I was nursing my baby. I can't believe how sick people are to actually link sex to nursing. I am so NOT offended by the cover, it is the most normal thing to me and it would be great if it was a normal thing for more Americans. I am currently putting together a proposal for my local state rep to introduce stricter breastfeeding laws in my state. We have protection from public nudity charges but hopefully our state will have the much better legislation that actually puts business owners on the hot seat of they refuse a woman her right to breastfeed. Wish me luck!

No, I am not offended. At first, you can't tell it is a breast. But breastfeeding is a natural form of feeding and the public really needs to learn more about it. I mean, that is the whole reason women have breasts! To feed their babies. It is a baby magazine, and is usaully in OB-GYN's waiting rooms. So, there fore, I think it is very appropriate, even on the cover!

The baby is surely enjoying the meal, and take a look at the expression on his/her face!

Men get turned on no matter what, whether it's a breast or a car. Society needs to get over the idea that breasts are all about sex, they were designed with one purpose and that is to feed!

I think it's surprising at first and then kind of cute. You don't see very many if any women openly breastfeeding where I live. Everyone covers up with blankets. And I don't stare at myself in the mirror when I breastfeed. At least it's a wholesome view of nudity and nature how it's intended, and not something disgusting and repulsive which is usually seen in the media. I've seen more breast exposure on fashion magazines.

No - And it should not offend anybody. Breastfeeding is a wonderful and natural way to rear your baby, Women do it public all the time so why would we be offended to see it on a magazine cover.

Personally, I'd like to personally meet the women who wrote in and said that breasts were "sexual objects" or that nursing moms with babies attached are "gross" and slap the sh!t out of them. What's wrong with people???

No, this cover does not offend me. When I first looked at it, I saw what a beautiful baby they had chosen, and how he was looking up to his mother. :)

I have to wonder if the women who are so adamant about not breastfeeding in public are actually jealous. First of all, it's really impolite to stare at a woman who is feeding her child, whether she's covered or not. If these women sneak peeks at the bf'ing moms and see how large their breasts are, maybe they're jealous? Probably become jealous when their husbands look, too...maybe these women feel inadequate in the bedroom because they don't have as much "up top".

I suppose it would if I was Hindu or Islamic or a member of a society that forbid such things. But here in the good ol' USA I think the photo is very tasteful and charming. Now if the nipple was showing, it would need some censorship. Not because I would be offended, but out of consideration of others who I know would be.
If your offended, wight the editor of the magazine.
Actually by doing that you will increase the ratings of the photo.

What so gross about that! I'ts a fact of life......People aren't offended by boobs in anyother form, may it be vulgarity in the tabloids or on the street! People need to take a chill and appreciate the good things in life. There is nothing more heart warming to me to see a young women with a baby at her breast. If you offended....as far as I'm concerned "that's just to darn bad!" Hat off to the Magazine!!!!!

Hi. a picture of a baby breastfeeding! why, I thought it was so cute. Any one who finds it offensive is attaching sexual connotations to a breast. Early man saw it and did not find it offensive. In fact, the more exposed people are the less inclined they tend to become to issues like breast feeding. How else shall we promote breast feeding? I think we should have such pictures all over. Incidentally, that picture would not raise such concern in Africa.
