I am still pondering what the Bible writers wanted us to learn from that story of the two daughters who produced from their father deliberately!

That is a story from The Bible. God had told Abraham or my preacher says it was Noah that he would produce a child that would be in the chain that would finally produce Jesus. The problem was that his wife was well past child bearing age so the daughters decided to get him drunk and have his children. His wife finally produced a child despite her advanced age. The preacher must be right because from a goggle search I did not find that information about Abraham, but his wife was his half sister and both were quite advanced in age. There are many other stories in the Bible that would keep other books out of the library. Just a note ... The Sumerians, 3000 years BC, knew of the 10th planet that we have just discovered. In many areas, they may have been more advanced then than we are today.

I am not sure what the meaning is but let me translate the actual story... Lot was told by gods angels to leave the city and to take his 2 daughters and wife and if anyone looked backed while they destroyed the city then whoever looked back would be turned to dust. Lot and his wife and daughters left but his wife looked back and was immediately turned to dust. Lot and his daughters were not welcomed in any bordering town so they basically set up house in a cave outside of the city. It was years and years and lots 2 children were wanting to be with a man so they served their father wine until he was drunk and they forced themselves on him.

I just wanted to inform everyone what the actual story was. As far as the meaning to me I think that it means that sometimes family can betray you but by the grace of god all can be forgiven. but not really sure.

It might be a sort of reverse psychology thing. It's saying 'Go forth, get pissed, shag your dad, have babies (they shouldn't be drinking while pregnant either)' in the hope people do the opposite (stop drinking and abstain from insest).

This is the story of Lot and his family found in Genesis chapter 19. Lot had just fled the destruction of Sodom with his wife, and two married daughters (whose husbands had elected to stay in Sodom). Lot's wife disobeyed God and was turned into a pillar of salt so he was alone in a cave with his two daughters. It seems to me that, knowing their husbands were dead they wanted to continue the bloodline somehow and that was their motivation for getting old pops drunk and having sexual relations with him. But here, judge for yourself.

30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let's get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father."

33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and lay with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.

34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, "Last night I lay with my father. Let's get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and lie with him so we can preserve our family line through our father." 35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went and lay with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.

36 So both of Lot's daughters became pregnant by their father. 37 The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab [g] ; he is the father of the Moabites of today. 38 The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi [h] ; he is the father of the Ammonites of today.

The bible - please dont get me started on it please...
It is wrong to have a sexual relationship with your parents. im curious now, what happened to the girls. maybe the moral is: dont lock up your daughters and move them away from civilisation...

ITS A PARABLE OF LIFE IN THE FAMILY. WHEN TIMES ARE TOUGH WE SHOULD EACH KNOW FOR OUR SELVES THAT THINGS THAT ARE TAUGHT ARE NOT ALWAYS PLAUSIBLE AND THAT DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES. IN OTHER WORDS BE PREPARED TO FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO SURVIVE IN WHAT CAN ONLY BE EXPLAINED AS A COLD HARD WORLD. UNLESS YOU DONT BELIEVE IN GOD, THEN YOU THINK LIFE IS EASY.
