You might want to wait a while. The giving of a watch at retirement is something his unit may do for him. The Air Force gave me a watch when I left and I was only in for six years.

I retired from the US Army at 21 years and have been retired 32 years. My favorite watch only cost about $6.50 ... an Aquatech alarm chronograph from Walmart. This is my second one and it keeps good time. Congratulations!

Swiss Army or Tag Heuer have some beautiful watches. They can be simple and elegant to sporty and interesting.
Check out the sites: www.tagheuer.com or www.swissarmy.com.
A nice watch doesn't have to cost more than a car.

i would sit down with your boys, and discuss this, i dont wear a watch, i love the chain around my neck that my son got me, and every time i look at it i say , wow i got a great kid, . my point is watches do break, you want to tell him how proud you are of him, and that you love him, gett him something that every time, brings a great memory, weather it is a pisture that sits on his desk of the 3 of you, and a a little diploma next to it saying how wounderful a father and husband he has been...my suggestion is get thinking...sometimes the asimplyest things in life are the things we cherish the most!

my best friend bought her boyfriend a gorgeous "Swiss Army" watch last christmas and it was fantastic. it was really high-end, with a black face and all silver numbers and a silver band. it was about $500 and it looks like it cost that much. it's lovely, i only wish i had bought it first!
check at your local jeweler or department store.
