As long as the motor's running you're burning gas! Putting it in nuetral saves the motor from pulling the weight of the car; but it saves maybe 10% of the gas ya would've used, so it's really not that much! Besides you'll just probably let the car run longer in 'N' so you save diddly squat!

No. None at all. Your car idles at a certain speed all the time even if it is not in gear. If you put your car in neutral in either automatic or manual transmission, you will actually in most cases break even or even use more fuel.
In some states, it is even illegal to have your car not in gear while driving. You are to have power available to the wheels at all times in case there is a prospect of an accident and you have to get moving quickly or downshift and use the engine to slow down.
I dont know how they could enforce it, but I know its true for a fact. I have asked my father in law about the very same thing and he was a mechanic and now for the past 30 years a police officer.

Very little, because you are not using gas to power your engine anymore because it is on neutral. It runs at 1000 rpm instead of whatever you are driving at.

It's going to save you a slight amount. Of course, if you have an automatic transmission, it will also wear it out very quickly.

Gas is easier to replace than brakes. Doing this will wear out your brakes faster. The choice is yours.
