There is no designation like you suggest for the 4.2 liter V6 in the F150. Ford still produces engines from the Windsor Ontario plant, but they are not designated as such, just 4.2 liter or 3.8 liter which they produce, also the V10s. Half of the 4.6 liter V8s are produced at Windsor also. There are also engine plants in Dearborn and Romeo, Michigan which make up the other half of the V8s. The only engine I can say that is tagged as different and actually given a different designation is the 4.6 liter Romeo engine, which is built at the Romeo engine plant. This is the engine that is supplied in the police interceptors, and some F150's, and is usually the improved performance version of the 4.6 liter. Cleveland, Ohio is still in operation as is Lima, Ohio producing the 3.0 liter V6s for the Freestyle, Five Hundred, and Montego, and 3.9 liter V8s for the Lincoln LS, but yet again they are not designated as Cleveland or Lima engines, just 3.0 liter Duratecs. Then there is the Brentwood, Essex plant that makes the small diesels for cars, don't see much out of them here in the states....YET! Dearborn was the plant that produced the legendary 427 ford of yesteryear. I hope this sheds a little light on your question.

Probably a 3.8L V-6. Not sure, guessing it's a Windsor block. Have to ask Dad to be sure. Good engines, although I prefer the 300 ci in-line 6 cylinder. Much better engine. Virtually indestructable. Good luck.

I never heard of any name for the V6
the trucks came with 3 engine choices a
4.2-liter V6 producing
210 horsepower and 255 foot-pounds of torque,
or a pair of overhead-cam Triton V8s, a 4.6-liter of 220 hp and 290 lb.-ft.,
and a 5.4-liter of 235 hp and 330 lb.-ft. These are the world's first and, so-far, only overhead-cam V8 truck engines.

I would call it: under powered? That year and engine size is either a 2.9 or a 3.0
