Having recently suffered a jellyfish sting to the right leg in the Mediterranean, I can assure you that the following things do not work: *sheepish admission that I tried them*
1. Meat tenderizer
2. Urine.
3. Vinegar.
If you are beyond 24 hours out, and you are worried about the appearance of the wound, you are out of immediate danger of the effects of the venom, and the only problem would be should you develop a bacterial infection. The discoloration will be with you for some weeks after the blistering process is complete and healed over.
You may want to visit the local tattoo parlor when the discoloration is still there and get it tattooed on permanently as a reminder of the event, since most tattoos are simply permanent reminders of a temporary emotion or event.

Symptoms of jellyfish stings include (scary stuff coming up...) intense, stinging pain, rash, and wheals .
The progressive effects of a jellyfish sting may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, lymph node swelling, abdominal and back pain, fever, chills, and sweating.
Severe reactions can cause difficulty breathing, coma, and death. (Aaaarrrgghhhh!)
Persistent redness and irritation after 2-3 days may signal bacterial infection of the wound.
If you have a large area involved and you're very young or very old, or shows signs of generalised illness (nausea, vomiting, weakness, shortness of breath or chest pain), you need to seek help from a doctor.

Use meat tenderizer (the powder) on your sting, or (as gross as this sounds) have someone pee on it, and then go to the doctor to have it looked at. I don't think it's too serious, as you would have gone into anaphylactic shock if it were an extremely toxic form of jellyfish, but you don't want to be left with permanent muscle damage or a nasty scar, either. :)

I would say if it was recent, use meat tenderizer or pee on it (urine neutralizes the "burn"). However, since it is leaking puss, I am not entirely sure you got stung by a jellyfish. Go to the doctor.

You must pour some vinigar on it to draw out the sting and also soak your foot in some very hot water and keep adding hot water to it for about an hour and the pain should go away. Also ring up the hospital for advice. the water must be very hot for it to work. good luck

Well if it was a box jelly, which are in the Great Barrier Reef, you would be dead by now.... I think you should pee on it or use vinegar and see a doctor for recommendations. Don't want to get it infected....Good Luck!!!

Go and see your doctor and he/she should prescribe some anti-biotics and perhaps some cream to put on it, the Jellyfish in British waters do give a nasty sting but they won't kill you.

vinegar is the best thing, neutralizes any uncharged stings. if it is now infected see a doctor. urine is not the best - it is an urban myth, on all australian beaches whwere there is risk of jellyfish they have vinegar stations.
