how can i learn dance on my own,is there any website or cds etc?

i m 25,female.I wanna know the simple dancing things so that i dont look idiot in crowd.Actually i have never danced before so i feel shy in doing this. Is there any resonable dancing school etc in new delhi

My suggestion is go to clubs where they play the type of music you like sit around watch the way people dance then try doing it. If not you can always go to a dance school. But belive once you start noticing the way most people dance at clubs is all pretty much the same ol basic step. You'll fit right in.

I learned to dance on my own.
Go to some dance places with friends first, but only observe how others are dancing.
Pick some moves that you like AND which you can do, then practice at home until you get confident in being able to dance.
Incorporate some of your own moves so you're not completely copying others.
I've been on the floor with my girlfriend, to find others dancing like us.

Dancing lessons from friends or family members are the way to try first, if they won't do it for free talk about a price. If you have no friends or family that knows all about dance, find a dance class in your local area. I take dance as well... only I do modern dancing so its a bit different from normal dancing.

I have no idea about things in New Delhi but you can go to www.amazon.com and look up dancing dvd's on there. They have everything from ballroom, to hip hop, to belly dancing.
