They could start harassing you directly, emailing you bad messages, sending viruses, maybe even passing your email out to other that they know. Then a ton of others do the same.
They could sign your email up for a bunch of junk.
Or they could send a scam email to you...something that looks perfectly legit. If you don't know everything to look for, and put in all your contact info, then they know where you live.
So, you could have the person checked out first through their screen name to see if they are really ok.

well, it cant do too much harm. If they want to steal ur identity, they are gonna do it anyway. Scat is a transit system in the south florida area

if it's a public chat room, obviously you have to worry about everyone else in the chat room. Receiving all kinds of junk mail and possibly someone figuring out how to hack your computer.
Scat.......is considered a fetish, playing with feces.
