To have a wireless connection you need a wireless router and a wireless PC card if your laptop doesn't have built in wireless.
To see if you have a wireless connection, go to Control Panel->Network Connctions. Look and see if any wireless connections are listed, if so, all you need is a wireless router, if not, you need both the router and PC card.
If you need to buy a PC card, try to get one the same brand as the wireless router you are buying, devices from the same brand usually work together better.
Once you have a router, follow the instructions on how to set it up and connect to it. Make sure to set some form of security so not just anyone can come by and use it.

frist your need a high speed internet connection. Than your need a wi fi card for your notebook and what ever other devices you want to share the internet. Than you will need a router. The different in price range i got a belkin wireless dsl router for 38 bucks and it works good. Than you will need to install all the networking cards in to the devices that you want to share the internet with. After that install all the drivers and it should work

You need something that isn't available yet, that is, a fuel cell powered battery that will power the laptop for at least 8 hours before needing refueling. And a power source that doesn't wear out like rechargeable batteries do that need replacing all the time. So if you truly want a full size wireless laptop, you'll have to wait until they design them to draw a lot less power and a more reliable longer lasting battery comes along in my opinion.

first you will need a wirless PCMICIA card that goes into one of your expansion slots on the laptop, unless your latop is already wirelessly configured, then you need to connect to a router that is wirelessly enabled. you also have to have a password or access code usually to get on a router. there is NO where you can go with a normal wireless card that you will always be connected to the internet, especially on the same connection

It is called a wireless internet card. So i dont know what ear you live in but you dont need wires to hook up a laptop to the internet.

You need a WiFi adapter/card, and a WiFi Hot spot. Google wireless internet for lots of good answers.

Nowadays, lots of the coffee shop or restaurants already is WiFi enabled! so just get a drinks and you can access the wireless Internet access there!
