If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Damn Acne at 22, im 17 next month and have had it since i was 11, its pretty bad lately - I don't see much hope for me, Here i was hoping it would clear up - But I'm seeing a dermatologist soon - I Hear they can work wonders - Since many of my own remedies have served only to make things worse - and so I will not mention any in fear of misleading you - Make an appointment with a dermatologist straight away and don't let it go as far as I have - nip it in the bud - I Feel mine is beggining to scar after all these years and at 22 your skin is not regenerating itself at the same rate as your teens - See a derm and quick.

Acne is caused by a lot of things, including stress. Make sure to drink lots of water and wash your face (twice a day with a good-quality soap), and try to not put your hands on your face becasue it will transfer the bacteria in your hand (imagin the differ types in ur hand!!) to your face.Depending on the person, some foods can add acne, such as chocolate or excess oil in foods (I know lots of ppl say its a myth, but it happens to some people, not all), so u have to know the nature of your body. I really advice you to go see a dermatologist instead of trying the over-the-counter products... save some time and do straight away go the dermatologist .

ya same here! its like everyone got back at us from our clean skin high school days.
basically you have to get a whole new skin care routine, or in my case, and actual skin care routine. use a daily gentle face exfoliator. and then moisturize afterwards. crucial.
plus go to the dermotoligist, and get a prescription for some hardcore good creams. over the counter stuff don't really work. the thing that works for me is Differin. its great. in a few days your acne will slowly dissolve.
if that doesn't work your doctor can tell you other options.

I would suggest the following:
Step One - Wash your face with an oil-free facial soap.
Step Two - Use a good quality astringent/toner with a cotton pad.
Also, DO NOT touch your face or let others touch it as the oils on your hands or theirs can clog your pores. I use Clinique facial soap but you should also use Cetaphil for your face at least once midday .

I suggest you go to the dermatologist. I once had very terrible acne all over my face and back, after a while of trying to fight it, I went to the dematologist and the doctor prescribed a lotion to help me and it worked. Go to the profesionals, they'll know what to do.
