theres a song from early 90s i need to know, ill know when i see the title, otherwise can't remember anything about the song, don't think it was a number one, coulda been, don't know.

Why not go and buy the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles it will give you every record that has been in the charts since 1952 with the position that every record reached on the charts and how long it stayed in the charts. It is an amazing book.
