Will he be the next 'messiah' in a thousand years? Will people be analyzing his lyrics like scripture and speculating about his life, his followers, treasure his art and belongings?

I don't believe in prophets but I do believe in John Lennon!
I like some parts of the bible, there are some very good lessons and teachings and concepts shared within it. There is also a lot of crap.
I like John Lennon's work even more than the Bible (and even more than most anyone else's work!) He's just an amazing thinker and dreamer. He shared ideas that can and hopefully will (and probably already have considerably) changed the world!
He is the greatest inspirer to modern humanity that I think ever lived. 2000 years from now neither Lennon nor Jesus will be forgotten. IMO.
Neither was anything more than a normal human being, with exceptional insights and an ability to share his insights.

I suggest you go to Julian Lennon's website and read what he has to say about his father, then you decide.
I personally believe that John was an extremely talented songwriter, satirist, poet and activist. But, also a fractured human-being who had drug, alcohol, and infidelity addictions exacerbated by his lifestyle.
His lyrics are not scripture that would support a healthy society. "You better run for your life if you can little girl. Hide your head in the sand little girl. Catch you with another man that's the end — little girl." hardly sounds like the type of man you would want to spend the rest of your life with. "How Do You Sleep At Night" written to Paul McCartney, after the breakup of the Beatles, is a mocking, grudge-holding song. These songs are certainly not examples one would want to emulate. On the Sergeant Peppers album, John cleverly lifted words right off a poster for 'The Benefit of Mr. Kite.' Nothing prophetic here.
