Why is rock music so suicidal and bad?

A baby banging on pots and pans, and screaming can make better music. Also, I hate suicidal and depressing music. Everybody needs to listen to RAP.

What is the message in rock? To drown yourself in alcohol or cut yourself to the bone when the going gets tough?

Here you talk about how suicidal rock is, yet you prefer a genre that probably influences more homicides than any of the others....wow.

Rock music is much like any other type of music--unique in style, deep with meaning. I could be suicidal to Yanni or Aqua--it really depends on what my situation is, do you see what I mean?

Sure, rock has a louder sound and comes at you from a different angle, but as stated, anyone could be suicidal and bad, no matter if you are jamming to Metallica or relaxing to Bach. It is really all in what you get out of the lyrical message.

HELLOOO....ROCKERS CUSS ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME!! If you don't believe me, listen to NIckelback or Staind. And the baby thing, is that a joke? Since when did rap sound better then rock? Rappers cuss about drugs, sex, parties, drinking, and who knows what else, and besides, not everybody listens to rap because a lot of the rap songs are ANNOYING! Rappers yap real fast throughout the entire song, while all the while a persistent beat in the background is driving you insane!
Don't get me wrong, I like a few rap songs. The trouble is they quickly get old. I heard "Shoulder Lean" twenty times and I'm officially done with that song!
Rock music is NOT suicidal, and, in my opinion, it is A HECK OF A LOT BETTER then rap. Only a few songs are suicidal, not the entire genre. And rock is more flexible then rap. They are oftentimes angry, but rock songs can also be thoughtful, even joyful. And in my opinion a rock love song is a lot more convincing then a rap love song.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, though. You said yours. All of the above is mine.

Rock n Roll is the reason you have rap. People do not commit suicide from rock music. They had mental issues to begin with. Just like the movies.. don't blame the movies for something stupid you did or someone else did. If folks do not know how to teach there kids reality.. do not blame the artist. by the way, Rap sucks.. it is not music, it is crude untalented poetry.

Not all rock is suicidal and depressing. Granted I think Metal is kind of suicidal but so is rap I mean toy soldiers by eminem was really depressing.So this is a two sided argument

Umm, dont know what rock you listen to, but most rock isnt suicidal, as for "bad" thats an opinion, not everyone thinks its bad, as for rap, some people believe in the motto, "cant spell crap without rap".

Rock actually expresses emotion and in that way it's more of a descendant of Blues and R&B than Rap music is. Rap is vapid and overly materialistic, and it rarely if ever deals with any subject matter other than designer clothing and car brands and groupies. Pretty vacant, if you ask me.

I like rock...to me rap sounds like a baby banging on a SINGLE (and out of tune) pot or pan.

If we must generalize...OK...rock is suicidal. But then rap is murderous.
