No, they are not the best. The best team will be determined by the playoffs. They have not played well this year against the playoff teams. We will see if they can make it through theplayoffs and win the world series. Only then can they be called the best.

Of course they are.
They are a class act.
One of the many reasons they are so good (other than Jim Leyland...and I could talk about him for hours!) is because they are UNSELFISH!!!
Ivan Rodruguez is not afraid to bunt when called on to do so.
Vance Wilson usually plays when Ivan needs a day off or is hurting (like this weekend). Wilson is comfortable sitting being Ivan's back-up. He knows he wont play everyday, but when he does play he is ready and always gives the team his best effort.
Dmitri Young is back, and is on a mission.
While The Tigers have no "superstars" they are stacked in the line-up 1-9.
Brandon Inge (who usually bats ninth) leads the team with 20 HR's...that says something about your #9 hitter.
They are the best because they do not have any HUGE EGOS to get in the way.
It's a team effort, and everyone on the team contributes.

Are they the best? Well look every team has their chances to be good. Last year was the white sox and now it seems to be the tigers. But like he said up there, it will all depend on the playoffs.
But if they were realy the best then they would have no losses at all... that's my opinion on being the best.
