I am going to assume that this is a serious question pertaining to "home & garden". In order to get a serious answer, you need to provide a little more information. What part of the house is the knocking coming from? Is there any activity you can associate with the knocking such as flushing the toilet or turning on a particular water faucet? I'm sure that you get the picture.

May be you have woodpeckers in the house shingles or the surrounding trees.
May be you did not load the washer or dryer evenly so they are banging and knocking
Maybe your dog or cat has fleas and while scratching themselves their leg is knocking on the floor.
May be your room mate/spouse/mom and dad etc. have more important things to do than YAHOO, so don't open the bedroom door. O.K.!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe there is a MONSTER AT THE END OF THIS ANSWER...................BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
