I've known a girl since we were in kindergarten.. And we have always been friends but in the last two years we have become closer then ever. Until... About 7 months ago. My friend started to make friends with funny dumb blonde who actually is asian. But she started to grow farther and farther apart from me... So i thought the only way to fix this was to become friends with the "dumb" blonde. She was loads of fun, and today we are all 3 friends. But three really is a crowd. On eachothers AIM profiles they wont stop talking about how much they love eachother (friend love of course) and they wont even put my name in there. Everyone knows them as inseperable... But i thought i was friends with them too! I have even told them about it and how much it hurts that they wont include me in things or go to the beach with eachother, like 5 other people and not me! I t REALLY hurts... and I'm not going to become a dumb blonde so they like me better! What should I do?

Sorry Shelby, it looks like DB has taken over. When people first become friends, there is a lot to talk about, you are all getting to know each other, that's kind of how it works.

If you are starting to feel like a 'tag-along' it's time to drop out and do your own thing, especially since they won't recognize you on their AIM profiles. If you won't change then you need to change friends, because this just isn't working for you.

Don't be disagreeable or nasty to them. Just quietly drift away. That way, you leave the door open for them to ask you to join in the conversations at a later date.

In the meantime, develop a hobby, read interesting books, do volunteer work at your local hospital, (you can meet some really interesting people there), spend time with your family. Participate in summer sports (swimming, tennis, bike riding, volleyball, hiking etc), spend quality time with grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins. Round out your life.

I hope this helps you get through this.

Let them go, you deserve friends that not only include you but will stick by you as you grow older. Find others that have similar interest and the best advice I have to give.....don't walk away crying, hold your chin high and have fun finding new friends. Don't call names and don't whine, just move on.
