There's no BEST makeup brand. They all specialize in different things.
...But my personal favorite is M.A.C. I buy it all the time. Second favorite is Maybelline.

I quit wearing that nasty base makeup a long time ago. It has improved with time and it doesn't seem to look so thick these days.
What you need to do if you are going to wear this is first, make sure you know your skin type; make sure you match your color; make sure you put it on evenly so it doesn't look blotchy; and the mistake I see most frequently is people stop applying this at their chin line - that is what makes the Halloween Mask-look. Your neck is the same color as your face - make sure you put on makeup so that isn't what makeup looks like on you.
Your best cosmetics cost some bucks - go to a department store, get a cosmetician to help you out, and then buy the best product for your skin so you do not clog your pores and break out.

L'Oreal is the best overall. Almay and Revlon are pretty good and Maybelline isn't bad, it's owned by L'Oreal . I'm not fond of Cover Girl myself, some products are OK, some aren't.

I don't think any brand of makeup is good. I would prefer not to wear any makeup. I use to wear it, but after I met my husband(he hates makeup), I started to look at things differently. Why do girls wear makeup? That is question my hubby to answer very well.

Personally, I wouldnt buy makeup at a drugstore, but if I had to choose, Physican's Formula or Prestigue.

I like cover girl, but it really depends on what type of skin you have...like if you have dry skin, not all makeup will be healthy for it, I think you should try many different kinds before you decide on one.Everyone's skin is different. Good luck!
