I have no idea. Make sure that you didn't somehow accidentally drag it down. Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and see if you have a dragging handle.

If not, try restarting the computer. Sometimes, things just mess up and a quick reboot will do the job.

If it still doesn't work, try going to WinKey+R, and type sfc /scannow to check all your Windows components.

As a last resort, try a virus scan or use Hijackthis [see first source] along with the analyzer [see second source] to see if there is anything wrong.

PRESS WINDOWS KEY ON KEYBOARD.GO TO CONTROL PANEL THEN TO START AND TASK BAR ICON.CHECK BOX FOR LOCK TASK BAR AND KEEP TASK BAR ON TOP OF WINDOWS.HOPE THAT HELPS.
