I'm going to Holland on August 9th and would love any tips for traveling once I got there i.e what to bring, cool stuff to do once there, and most importantly where to shop:] Any help is much appreciated

Well,since I don't know where in Holland you ll be staying I will try to keep it general.
In Holland there are some great shops,like the Hema,Bijenkorf(even though that one is a little pricey),V&D,H&M,where you can find almost everything in great prices!
In August the weather is usually ok,but still,take a jacket with you and some warmer shirts cause you never know.An umbrella could prove usefull.Good walking shoes because the transportation there is kinda expensive so you don't want to spend money to go to places where you can actually walk to.
Visit Amsterdam,Rotterdam,i really like the zoo in Rotterdam(Blijdorp) and the Burgers Zoo in Arnhem.Dolphinarium is also great(Hardewijk) and if you are looking for amusement parks try the Efteling(Kaatsheuvel,www.efteling.nl),Six Flags Holland etc.You can also go to the cheesemarket in Alkmaar,or the Apenheul in Apeldoorn(they have all sorts of monkeys there).
But still the best way to know which places you like and are easy for you to visit from where you are staying is to visit a local VVV office,they will give you all the information you need and you will find maps there and other usefull stuff.Have fun in Holland,I love it....

well i have lived in germany for about 3 years now - a deploment to iraq and i spend most of my $$ on going places and i can tell you when you get here you wont have any trouble having a good time when ever i have a problem i just ask the locals thay are the best sorse of info
