Pregnancy occurs when a sperm (and there are millions in an ordinary ejaculation) penetrates an egg of the woman. The woman produces one egg per month. This is called ovulation, and generally occurs in the period 12 to 16 days after the beginning of your period. Therefore, if you wish to not get pregnant, you might want to abstain from sex during that time period. Conversely, if you are trying to get pregnant, that same time period would be optimum for getting pregnant. Once the egg has been impregnated by the sperm, the process of producing a child springs into action, terminating about 9 months later, with a birth. So once that moment of impregnation has occurred, there is a human being in the making, which is why so many people get really upset about abortion, as it amounts to the loss of a real human being. If you are worried about being pregnant and are considering abortion for one reason or another, take a moment to think about that life, that other human being, that resides in you now, and think of how that little human being will have your nose, maybe your smile, maybe your laugh. No matter what obstacles you may have to overcome to see that smile, hear that laugh, do not wipe out that little life. If you need counseling, send me an email and I will try and help you.

of course you could be pregnant!
it scares me that you are having sex and you dont know the answer to this question. I am guessing that you are a teenage girl....but you could be a 70 yr old man...
there are lots of variables I suppose....
are you a female of child bearing age? do you have periods? did you use a condom? are you on birth control? did he ejaculate inside of you? please use some resources like Planned Parenthood, a family doctor, web.md GOOD LUCK, sorry for seeming snippy, I am worried for you and hope it all works out. My best friend has 2 neices that are 17 and 20 and both have recently become pregnant.

It takes 1 or 2 days for sperm to find an egg, if there is one to be found at the time you had sex. That all depends on your ovulation date.
Believe it or not, it's harder to get pregnant than most people think. Timing is EVERYTHING

Yes, if everything worked out with ovulation, and the egg and sperm joining. But a pregnancy test wouldn't be positive for at least 10 days.

meaning today? (aka 2 days after you had sex?) yes. on Friday if you were 13-18 days away from your period...theres about a 25% chance that you are. If you were more than 18 days away from your period friday, or less then 13 days away...your chances are slim.

You become pregnant the minute the sperm fertilizes the egg, therefore the answer is yes, but you wouldn't experience any symptoms of pregnancy in that short time.

Sperm only lives a few hours so you would be pregnant on Friday if you got pregnant.

You are pregnant the moment the sperm meets the egg, which could have been the same day you had sex.
If you want to know how long until you can TEST, wait until your missed period.
