Any degree that says graphic design is a good degree? Warning graphic design is not just about airbrushing magazines all the time. You can't just get a job in the graphic design industry as a magazine cover graphic designer or artist. You would have to do other things such as build websites, cd covers, brochures, packaging, logo/identity design and etc. Sometimes you would even have to draw or sketch to come up with a design.

Generally, the graphic designer does this.
My aunt worked for a lingerie catalog and she did the airbrushing.
A graphic arts degree or an art degree with a computer emphasis would probably be what you are looking for.
