Both of my gold earrings have fallen out... great! I cannot find them anywhere. I have sensitive ears, and was told that I can only use gold earrings. I need replacement earrings or else my holes will clothes up. Can I wear fashion earrings and earrings made of sterling silver?

No!! I have tried, and tried to wear fashion earrings when someone has borrowed my other pairs w/out asking me, and it was just miserable. The backs of my ears break out in an angry red rash, and it itches all the time!! And this is in a matter of some hours after I have put them on. What I would suggest you do is to try disinfecting a piece of wood with alcohol, and putting a tiny piece in your ear to prevent your holes from closing up. It's preferable than having to deal with bumps breaking out on your skin that itches like the devil!! And wearing sterling silver IS good for your skin!! It cleans a lot of the toxins in your body out that you arent even aware that you have.

I wear small gold hoops all the time and when I want to wear fashion earrings i get the style that I can clip to the hoops instead of through my ears. This way my ears dont hurt afer 10 mins and i can have some color.

Try to wear pure gold and silver earrings all the times, but if you want to wear fake earrings, you can. You just first rub the hook with acholol, and then, after it drys, apply clear nail polish onto the hook. But if you wear it too much and your ear gets infected, put on your pure gold/silver earrings, and if that still doesn't let it heal, then put eye medicine on earring before putting it on. I assure you that it will work.

I have the same thing. I cannot wear fake gold or silver. I wouldn't do that, unless you find some last minute real silver or gold earrings.

Don't do it if your ears are sensitive. You need to wear either pure silver or gold earings.

I, too, have sensitive ears.
You can find nickel-free earrings at WALMART, BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY, JC PENNEY, and KOHL's.
Just make sure that the posts and the other parts that will come into contact w/your skin are nickel-free.
You can also find nickel-free earrings online at www.simplywhispers.com.
My doctor told me that I can only wear are platinum earrings.
Yeah right!
I don't have platinum money..not yet, that is!
So..I buy what's safe and cheap for the time being!

You should be able to wear earrings with hypoallergenic nickel-free posts, made for people with sensitive ears. They don't work for everyone, though, but they're not expensive and come in all styles.

sterling silver should be fine, but fashion earings will cause irritation if you wear them for more than a few hours
