Set crown face up, and upside down on mitre saw.
It gets confusing, so try a couple of sample pieces.
Your saw probably has "silly marks" at these angles.

If your saw is big enough you can also cut you crown standing up. Just place it upside down with the wall edge up against the fence. As long it is tight to the fence you can usually just set you saw to a strong 45 degrees and it will fit. A 12" saw usually makes it through any normal sized crown.

To match a perfect cut keep in mind that walls will not always be completely square. use a bevel square on all outside corners - the inside should all be coped so should match up anyway.
