I've heard about the cocoa butter thing - I used it during my pregnancy. I didn't have a single stretch mark until my ninth month. That was when they suddenly popped up all over my hips, butt, and tiny ones all over my belly and breasts. I just grew a lot in my last month of pregnancy. Some people say cocoa butter, vitamin E, and stuff like that works; others say it all depends on your skin and you genes! If you do get some stretch marks - continue with the cocoa butter or pure vitamin E - it will help lighten them up and make them less noticeable. That worked for me!! Good Luck with your pregnancy!! : )

Factors that influence whether or not a pregnant woman will get stretch marks include:
-- Heredity: if your mother had them, it is likely you will too.
-- Ethnicity: women with greater amounts of melanin in their skin are less prone.
-- Water: ingested during pregnancy, keeping skin hydrated decreases the chance a woman will get stretch marks.
-- Scratching: as your stomach expands, the skin may become scratchy. Do not scratch; instead, rub lotion or powder on to alleviate the itchiness.
-- Exercise: daily to keep your skin supple and free from toxins. This will help by toning the skin of your body and increasing its elasticity.

No, there is no way of preventing stretch marks and you can not get rid of them either..Just keep on using the cocoa butter and aslo use some vitamin e cream..This will fade them and over time they should become hardly noticeable..
Congrats on baby and good luck!

I used coco butter from the day i found out. Some people told me that it reduces the chance of stretch marks and if you do get them helps them fade. But you have to put it on every chance you get and all over where you get stretch marks like tummy, butt, legs and boobs.
