I had the same thing happen to me and I could not figure out anything wrong; at least externally. I finally had to go into the Start menu, and then into all Programs, click on Brother (Brand of my printer) do an uninstall and then do a reinstall using the CD which came with my printer when I purchased it. It is working fine now, sometimes these wonderful gadgets can have minds of their own: for no seemingly good reason. Hope this helps, have a good day!!!

it could depend on the type of printer you have. check a few things first.

1. make sure the power source is on. if it's a power strip, make sure its on.
2. make sure the power cable is plugged in. if it is, it may be loose. try taking it out and pushing it back in securely.
3. make sure the printer's on button is on.

try these and see if they work.
