Yes it seems likely that India will need to invade and pacify Pakistan. And the US has made Pakistan an ally, giving it the idea that it is able to rely on USA support just like Israel does. Look for a new set of treaties and agreements being signed between USA and India like the recent nuclear development treaty coming up before the house of representatives. The USA either must quiet their little dog down or risk war with India.

No.

The leadership of both India and Pakistan are doing an admirable job of limiting extremists in both their countries from derailing the progresses made towards peace.

There seems to be now imminent war like the previous 3.

Now that both sides have nuclear deterrent, they can move towards normalizing relations in the way that the USA and Russia have.

There will likely be small and bitter conflicts well into the future, but all out war is increasingly unlikely.

The only significant chance to destroy the steadily gaining peaceful relations if extremist islamo-fascists were to overthrow the Pakistani government.

Here's hoping that does not happen.

India could not "do it" to Pakistan because Pakistan and India are fighting over territory that is disputed. Hizbullah went into territory that was undisputidly Israel's and provoked them. But it does set a dangerous precedent; Turkey is now about to invade Iraq to eradicate the Kurdish terrorists saying they have a right to do so, and USA can't stop them.

No! Simply because someone else does something does not give us the right to do the same.

BTW, I didn't understand the last part. Self-protection from what?

That is true, could get ugly but the standard must be allowed for India as it would be for anyone else.

Apparently there's no such thing as international law, so I guess everyone should just pick a neighbor to invade.
