Well I won't assume your racist, because I appreciate difference - So Yes, I Think the best singers are black people - they have soul and style, they invented music - whites invented ways to exploit it - lol - But seriously Blacks made most music and laid the foundation of modern music, hip-hop, rock - everything - Whites aren't short of a bob or two though - There are many extremely talented white singers as well - but i believe music is something that 'everyone' can relate to and so brakes down barriers between language and races, its the purest form of expression - It also depends on the genre too, Music is a very good portrayal of one's culture - Blacks have their own music, Whites have their own music - other cultures have theirs.

Ok, there are good singers in both races. Now the discussion is what genre? In something like Country - So white singers are actually pretty good - Leann Rimes. But in something like R&B - Black singers (That as evident now) have that soul and feeling towards the songs. But to answer the question - blacks are better singers because we have been singing Soul and Gospel music since Slavery. All that blood, sweat ,and tears gave us enough Soul to last twenty generations or more.

In the 70's id have said blacks. In the 80's blacks probably as well. Michael Jackson still sang good stuff then. In the 90's most music stank on both sides. Currently I'd say white. Black singers (at least alot of what I've heard) is more rap and not singing singing.

I actually like a lot of different types of music Black singers as well as White singers, I grow-up in a house with a mother who thought music was a road to ones thoughts and heart.........You know that music could speak your heart when you could not speak the words yourself, Today music has changed so much there is no real meaning in it like it use to be back in the day, all they say is stuff like, big ole booty bling-bling and I can keep going (as far as the black music goes) and then you have the white singer banging on everything, in their videos heck I really don't even know what they are saying period.

But with singers like Kelly Clarkson and Ne-Yo coming out with their soulful music maybe we will get back to the way it was, the music having a meaning again...........

I think it really depends on what you like... there are definitely genres where blacks outshine whites... R&B and Soul to name a couple. Very few people sing a love song like the late Luther Vandross, for example. Rock and Country have long been the home of the white vocalist. Pop is some of both. I happen to listen to music for what it is and what it says, rather than who does it or what race they are. My tastes are very eclectic. I'm not a huge fan of what most would call 'gangsta rap', but most other music is in my collection.

That's a really dumb question. Lots of black people have good singing voices and so do white people and both equally have a lot of bad singing voices.
