Just delete them, and if you still are unsure if they are completly gone, go to the start menu, click "run", and type it the name of the file that you are trying to terminate, click search and see what pops up, if there are no hits, you should be safe, if there are files that pop up, just click and drag it to the recycling bin and that's it!

When you move files to the recycle bin, the file are actually not deleted from the computer. They can still be recovered from the recycle bin. You can delete them completely from your computer by right clicking on the recyle bin and selcting "Empty recycle bin" option. This action would normally be OK for deleting files for home users. However, technically its still possible to recover some files even after they are deleted from the recycle bin, though this recovery proces is very time consuming and expensive. If you are concerned about this then you can install any file shredder that will completely erase the file by overwriting it several times to a point were it cannot be recovered. There are many such free file shredders available to download (but beware of spywares etc). I use "Eraser", it's an open source free software (more info at http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/ )

Stop, don't believe the bull that has already been written as answers here.
Go get evidence eliminator if you really want to erase it
http://www.evidenceeliminator.com/
There is alot more hidden on your computer than you realize. And apparently more than these other answerer's know about.
Do not believe that emptying your recycle bin will remove them from the hard drive. It doesn't do a thing to the actual file, it just takes the name off of the directory list of where it is stored. There are also other records of that file that are stored on the hard drive that can be easily located by anyone that knows where to look.
Don't believe that just any "eraser" program will work either. They DO NOT all perform as advertised. Evidence Eliminator DOES work.
You might also want to look at
http://beta.pgp.com/
if you want to encrypt anything on your hard drive that you want to keep, but not allow others to see.

Right click on the recycle bin and empty it. Another thing you can do is hold down the SHIFT button when you delete them and they won't even go to the recycle bin.
There are also "shredder" programs available that will make the deletion impossible to retrieve (well almost impossible).

Right click on the recycle bin and click on empty. As to whether they will show up again depends on whether again you browse in the same areas that you picked them up to begin with. It would be easier to answer if you were clearer on what type of files you are trying to get rid of.

right click on the recycle bin and click EMPTY recycle bin. Files are always "RECOVERABLE" but only by tearing your drive apart and going through multi hours of review, and that is only done at investigative precints...
