Do you think TMZ's report on what happened while Mel Gibson was being arrested is acurate? Do you think less of him now for his anti semetic tirade?

I don't know how you can excuse him by saying "Everyone makes mistakes," and leave it at that. There are some 'mistakes' which simply cannot be overlooked, and it would be irresponsible to do so. If an acquaintance of mine was found drunk driving and making disgusting comments, I would cut that person out of my life, no matter how 'sorry' he claimed to be afterward...just as I have, for several years now, cut any Gibson-related movie out of my purchases. You can't just say, "Oh, he said he's sorry, that makes it all better." People need to take proper responsibility for their actions -- or, if they won't, suffer the consequences.

And it's not just Gibson's anti-Semitism -- his drunken speeding, which endangered the lives of everyone on the road with him, is equally contemptuous. If he knew he was going to be drinking, he had no business putting himself in a position to be able to get his hands on a car after he was drunk.

I think Mel and people in Mel's position get speial treatment always. That's a fact of life. Now he's issuing statements of apology for statements he made while intoxicated. You, nor I would rarely have an oportunity to issue a statement to an officer(s) after we had verbaly abused them when intoxicated. I've had first hand expierence, being a former "drunk driver". I've paid dearly for everything I've done too. I didn't have the money that Mel has. But I can assume that Mel won't spend much time in jail. He'll probaly do a few community service things, and "donate" some of his precious time to a "cause" and walk away a hero while all the time telling you and I "Don't drink and drive!". This will just smooth everything over till the next episode or maybe the next time someone will get hurt or killed. Mel! There is a Pink Elephant in your front room!!!!!

I think the report is probably accurate.

You have a guy who really beat Hollywood at its own game, by shoveling out studio films for two decades, but goes and makes a literal fortune by financing The Passion of the Christ.

The LA Times reported a month or so ago, that Gibson is worth more than 850 million dollars.

If you run down the list on the TMZ report, he basically commited celebrity suicide.

I think the interesting question is how they are going to get out of it....Humor, News Talk Shows, etc...this is a very tough one for the publicists.

Do I think Gibson is anti-Semitic? I don't think you could be and navigate through the Studio System. That's just impossible.

But he probably doesn't approve of Israeli action against factions in Lebanon, and how the United States is inevitably drawn into a much larger conflict.

And he went off as bad as a bloke can get to explain his sentiment.

Here is the truth...and it's going to hurt some, but the truth does that.

1. Mel made a movie in a town run by Jews. Hollywood is dominated by Jews. How is that? Are Jews prejudiced? Why such a fuss when he made the movie? Jews don't like Christians and don't want to do Christians any favors. No one in Hollywood had any interest in making a good film about Christ. Truth is, Jews are in power and are hindering Christians. Mel was in a position to do something great, and ...

2. the Jews, in power, were ostracizing Mel and hurting his career. Stress from the Jews prejudice against him...did this. It was weighing on him and stressing him.

3. when he was liquored up, naturally, it all just came out ....raw

Who is at fault?

Mel was persecuted, behind the scenes. This persecution, none of us could see. He was stressed cause the Jewish powers in Hollywood, were stressing his every move. Mel isn't at fault.

the Jews are at fault because they never did learn the lesson, that Christiand don't hate them. But a warning to the Christians: the Jews do resent and hate you...and will hinder you when then can.

The only thing that should be released is his BAC, just like every other citizen. There is so much going on in the world and all the news can talk about is an actor that was drunk, sorry shape of affairs if you ask me. I'll go see Mel's movies because he is a good actor. Let the Hollywood Jews figure out a way to shun Mel while not supporting Israel.

Here is a question...

If it weren't "Mel Gibson" would anybody have ever read or heard about some random drunk guy making racial slurs during a routine traffic stop? I don't think so.

I truthfully don't know if he is or isn't anti semetic but I'm certainly not going to base my opinion on the rumor report taken while he was intoxicated. I've said and done things while drunk that were out of character and regretted them the morning after.

The media and we, the general populace, seem to love to search out flaws and problems in the people we make celebreties and then crucify them in a public court. If any of our lives were open to the scrutiny that theirs were perhaps we would not be so quick to judge.

Many people have done much worse then that so why do we need to make such an issue of this.
Mel Gibson has accomplished much more then the average person and others must be jealous of that.
He's only human and I think our media people need to settle down and start report about their own escapades.
Oh and despite what some religious groups think, The Passion was not just a movie but a work of art that was set aside at award time.

I think it was a mistake for him to make the remarks that he made. This is America, and he has a right to his opinions. When his movie “The Passion of The Christ” was released, many Jewish people objected to this film. While it was (by the standards of some Christians) an ultimate work of "genius". They touted it as proof of Mel's devotion to the truth no matter how it may effect people (either negative or positive) I never saw the film, I have a bad back and neck and I do not like movies with sub-titles.

While watching one of the famous pundits on the one of the news channels tonight, I heard some things that I had never heard about Mel's father. This famous "No Spinning Host" claimed Mel's dad harbors open contempt for people of the Jewish culture and faith, and that Mel's father even denies that the holocaust ever happened!

Folks, I do not doubt the holocaust, I never saw The Passion of The Christ (I am a bit less inclined to want to see it now)...I do not support bias because of religion, race or culture. Uh I DO have a problem with people who think their religious mission in life is to KILL other innocent people and me because we do not believe as THEY do! I try not to let the political view of others lure me into useless futile debate. My revenge for anyone, who disagrees with me, I vote.

If Mel Gibson was driving and he was drunk, that was WRONG! He should have taken his arrest in stride, and not tried to claim that the Jews were out to get him, THAT makes him sound a little crazy (to me). I mean it only sounds like he's trying to shuffle blame to others for HIS crime! Suck it up like you sucked up the booze, you broke the law, you got caught, boo-hoo. How much would they to do to him for a simple DUI maybe they would suspend his license? However with his verbal attack on the officer, it made it appear that he was not only drunk, BUT ALSO THAT HE WAS SO DRUNK that he could not control his mouth! Maybe he should consider a limo when he knows he will be attending a function where he will be drinking.

I don't know why celebrities think they are immune from the law, have they posted his booking photograph yet, was it anywhere near as good as Glen Campbell's Michael Jackson's and James Brown's? Diana Ross got a DUI here in Arizona last year, I think. I don't think celebrities should be immune from the law or be given special consideration when they were drunk and showed their bad temperament or prejudice. Mel goes to court with the rest of the alleged criminals, I am not certain how the laws are on DUI in CA, but I think when we say "Justice for all", that's exactly what it should mean!

I didn't hear that... so I don't know if it is true or a rumor. However, I do know he was drunk. Let's hope that whatever things he said were the alcohol talking & not him.
I like Mel Gibson, and it's always a shame to see someone you like act in an unbecoming manner. He may be a celebrity, but he is human just like the rest of us... I'm sure the majority of us have gotten drunk & said or done something they shouldn't have before. We're just fortunate enough not to have our mistakes become national news.
As far as I'm concerned, the only people that he should be apologizing to is his family. He has 7 kids that now have to deal with their dad's public humiliation.

No, with all the Jews in the media I am skeptical of the account all though they say he has apologized. The Jews have had it in for him for putting out that Jesus movie which they think is anti-semitic. Jews are paranoid people in the first place and many are quite neurotic so as soon as I read that I was like "hmmm"?

I mean why would he say that to an Irish police officer? He said something like "jews start all wars". I can see him saying F'you, I can buy you. But that! If he did he is crazier than I thought and I don't really think he's that crazy. Just an alcoholic.

Hmmmm. let's see....Mel Gibson a guy who made a movie about Jesus and portrayed the Jews as the ones who killed him is now being reported in the media, an industry controlled by Jews, as being anti-semetic?

What a coincidence...come on people....wake up...
