Hurricanes by a wide margin.

One has 2-3 days notice and no less than 12 hours notice for a direct hit. Even 4-5 hours one can evacuate, if roads aren't flooded by tides. Ample notice before that happens.

Ahhh, about earthquakes, a minute? Less?

Galveston, TX. Here.

I'd say hurricane, because even though you could lose property, you know that it's coming, so you could evacuate and bring irreplaceable things with you. Earthquakes, you usually don't get a moment's notice, and are taken by surprise. Though, hurricanes are really more frequent then dangerous earthquakes.

Not sure, but at least you know when a hurricane is coming. I live in So CA so more likely I will deal with an earthquake.

You will prefer hurricane over earthquake...becuse you know it is coming...you have time to run away from a hurricane or you can choose to hunker down...I have survived 15 hurricanes...It's a piece of cake if you are prepared.
