Who would you vote for as a definite inductee and who would you exclude...?

Is there anyone who you would like to see be nominated...i.e., Don Larsen, Pete Rose, etc...?

It's not about agreeing or disagreeing. These are all nominees by default. You need to have been in the league X amount of time, played so much, and been retired so long. The nominees aren't voted on they're automatic. Ripken, Gwynn, and McGwire are going to get in based on the way the writers tend to vote. However, they vote like it's the Hall Of Statistics.

It's my contention that it should be The Hall of Fame (Oh wait it is) meaning O'Neil and Canseco should be in too. When I have children and I tell them about great baseball players I'm going to mention O'Neil and Canseco. These guys were feared in their respective lineups when they came to your town. You went to games to see these guys play.

In terms of ommissions. Not Pete Rose. I believe gambling to be worse than steroids.

Ommissions by the writers' criteria The Hall of Statistics: Goose Gossage (Better than Sutter who they just put in), Bert Blyleven, Jim Kaat, and Andre Dawson

Ommissions by my criteria the Hall Of Fame: Goose Gossage, Bert Blyleven, Jim Kaat, Andre Dawson, Don Mattingly, Jack Morris, Roger Maris, and Dale Murphy off the top of my head.

Cal Ripken Jr. = Should be a no brainer
Tony Gwynn = ditto
Mark McGwire = same as above
Paul O'Neill =While i like him i would have to say no.
Jose Canseco=No
Bret Saberhagen =No
Bobby Bonilla = Heck no
Ken Caminiti =No
Eric Davis=No
Pete Rose should be in & if somehow it can be proven he wasn't part of the Black Sox scandal i think Shoeless joe Jackson should be in as well. And last but not least Goose Gossage shouldv'e been in by now.

Cal Ripken Jr.: in
Tony Gwynn: in
Mark McGwire: out. Maybe in '09 or '10
Paul O'Neill: not good enough for a few years
Jose Canseco: the book "Juiced" kind of screwed up his chances for awhile.
Bret Saberhagen: deserves to get in but not enough this year, definetly next year
Bobby Bonilla: not until maybe '10 or '11
Ken Caminiti:if he would have died of anything other than an overdose on drugs he might be in it, but not now
Eric Davis: to low of a career batting average and never played a full season

Ripken and Gwynn yes!! O'Neill has decent numbers but not HOF numbers. It's possible that one day he could make it via veterans association. McGwire, Canseco cheated via steroids. Caminiti is dead because of steroids. Saberhagen, Bonilla, Davis don't have the numbers.

As a player Pete Rose should be in the HOF. Don Mattingly, Jim Rice, Dwight Evans, Rich Gossage, Dave Parker among others should have long since been inducted into the HOF. Question is, why not???

Bobby Bonilla, Saberhagen, Davis, and Paul O'Neil have no chance as they are not good enough.
Canseco and Caminiti are self confessed steroid users, so no chance in hell they get in. McGwire has not been proved to use, but it is very unlikely we will overcome the suspicions.
It is Ripken and Gwynn for sure!

Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn are the only two getting in off that list.

If the Hall starts putting in people like Mark McGwire, there's no reason for Pete Rose to be left out anymore.

The guys that are definitely in are, CAL RIPKEN JR., TONY GWYNN, and thats it. I don't think anybody else on this list is hall of fame worthy. McGwire has the stats but hes a FREAKIN CHEATER. That would be an insult to the hall if he got in. So in 2007 those are the only 2 I see getting in.

One more thing the previous poster said that McGwire did it before it was illegal in baseball. It was still ILLEGAL IN THE UNITED STATES. so I think you can throw that notion out of the window.

Gwynn and Ripken are the only ones listed who deserve to be in the Hall. The others were merely good, or very good, but not great, and a couple of them (McGwire and Caminiti) are just steroid-saturated frauds.

The only other person I'd like to see on the podium in Cooperstown (he'll be there to help induct other, long-dead, players from the old ***** Leagues, but will not be so honored, himself) is the great, much-loved Buck O'Neil.

I believe Ripken, Gwynn, Saberhagen, Caminiti and Davis should be there. McGwire and Conseco need to think about their actions and should be treated as Rose is being treated for gambling. They should be ashamed they took steroids.

the only two who will get in are Ripken and Gwynn
I would like to see Keith Hernandez get in - he was the best defensive first baseman I've ever seen and an excellent two strike hitter. I really wish the HOF would put more emphasis on defensive players. i.e Paul Blair
Give it up on Rose. Character is also a criteria for eligibility and Rose repeatedly breaking a rule he knew well shows a lack of it.
