i hate it! it bugs me that people hate people just because they're from a different race, religion or whatever, and and don't even take the time to get to know them before they judge them.

i absolutely can stand racism......this is a quote from american history x and whenever you question or an yone like it is possed this is what i answer with. So I guess this is where I tell you what I learned - my conclusion, right? Well, my conclusion is: Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it. Derek says it's always good to end a paper with a quote. He says someone else has already said it best. So if you can't top it, steal from them and go out strong. So I picked a guy I thought you'd like. 'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'

Yes I hate it but I don't foresee it going anywhere. Racism will be around long after I am gone. As long as there is a difference in the colors of people's skins, there will be differences in people's thoughts. Narrow minds will continue to exist and reproduce. All we can do is promote acceptance and respect within our perspective homes and live by example.

Yes i hate racism as well. I believe it is the root of all evil and brings back bad karma to whomever is reinacting the racism. Race has no color in my opinion. Everyone is equal and should be treated equal. We are all living in one society who lives off of greed. Racism should be abolished for humanity's sake.

Yes, I hate racism! Don't know why it exists. We're all the same biologically. If an epidemic comes along, it will kill everyone, regardless of race/color. If someone dropped a nuclear bomb on a city, everyone would die regardless of race/color. So, why do people insist that one race is better than another?

Well, I don't hate racism. Most of hate comes from fear. Racism is simply a fear of people who are different from you. However, it also seems to be steeped in the very human instinct of self-preservation. From what I can tell, people who hate other people based on their religion or skin colour or ethnicity, seem to have had some horrendous experience that caused them to try to protect themselves in the future by keeping away from people who are like the person who hurt them.

Confused yet?

For example, I knew a Polish guy in high school who hates Jews. He hates Jews because a Jewish family had moved to wherever he lived in Poland *years* ago and because of their flourishing business, put his grandfather's store out of business. His grandparents were reduced to beggars on the street because none of their children could afford to give them any money to support themselves.

A former friend of mine hates black people because one black guy, *years* ago raped and murdered her mother's sister.

One of my aunts was nearly poisoned by a black coworker and robbed at gunpoint by black men at two different points in her life. Her best friend in the whole world is black, but she still confides that she can't possibly trust *those* people.

You see? These men and women are good men and women who are simply human. Racism, in my opinion, is only rude and not wrong because you can't make anyone think or feel or judge the way you want them to. It's rude because it's always discourteous to judge someone based on anything but their character. But it is also incredibly human. It's hard not to want to protect yourself from being hurt in the future.

In my very humble opinion, racism is wrong only when you *act* on it. It takes a forceful personality to change what their parents, grandparents or experience has drummed into their mind. But it only takes a fair individual to make sure it doesn't affect giving a deserving person a job, your friendship, or love.

Yes, it is horrible. It's mean and evil and makes no sense what-so-ever.

I never allow someone to say or do something racist in my presence without telling them to stop.

Here's a great place to go to help fight racism: http://teachtolerance.org/

THANK YOU for fighting racism, too. You're my hero!
