Coming out of the shower, with my towel wrapped around me, it was about 5:30am to 6:00am in California, I was in my room, turned on the television and saw the attacks on every channel. I thought it was a prank or a commerical to some new film, but it was very real. I went to school that day and everyone everywhere had the televisions on in my teachers classrooms and we all could not stop watching it. We did not know what to believe? Then when I got home some of my family from the East were calling us and telling us about it. Who would be that jealous of America? Why? In 2004 I went there and finally saw Ground Zero first hand. My face went blank.

I was working as an Office Manager for a large company and we heard it on the radio. I initially thought the first plane was an accident. When we heard about the second plane, I knew it was terrorists. I went home and brought a tv to the office so we could see the reports. It was an awful day, I will never forget it.

I was at work as a nurse at a teen psych center. Some of the kids came into the infirmary after the first plane hit and told me. They had seen it on the morning news at breakfast. I thought at first that it could be an accident, but when the second plane hit, I thought it was probably due to terrorism.

I'm on the west coast and was just getting my day started and had not yet turned on the TV. My husband called me when he heard the news on the radio as he was driving in to work. I turned on the TV just as the second plane hit. I sent my kids to school and went to work myself. Not realizing just what was happening. Very tough day. I personally did not know anyone who lost their life on that day.

I was on Okinawa, and I had been trapped inside my apartment for four days because of a typhoon. I was in the shower, and I came out, and I asked my husband "what movie is this?" - it was 11:30 at night, and they usually had some strange movie on then...he was sleeping and woke up, and we watched the news together for like four hours.
