I have already conquered INTENSITY, ODD THOMAS and COLD FIRE, enjoying INTENSITY and COLD FIRE the most, of those two, enjoying COLD FIRE the most. (Sorry for the rant, just name all the titles that aren't crap.)

Please only state books you've read...I like psychotic-ness stories more than just sheer murder...more the supernatural than the violence.

I liked "The Face." It definitely has violence, but more supernatural and more about peoples' motivations.

I recently discovered Koontz and am enjoying his series. I prefer to start an author's books from the earliest and progress in the order in which they were written. Often the author adds things that would be missed without reading the previous books. I just finished Dan Brown's (author of Da Vinci Code) Deception Point (I think) and it was super. It is nothing at all like Code and is a modern thriller.

Of Koontz, my favorites are WATCHERS and ODD THOMAS. (I was less impressed by the sequel Forever Odd.)

If you'd like another author who combines psychological thriller with mystery/horror, you should try Christopher Golden. He is amazing. He has series as well as stand-alone novels. My favorite is THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN.

I like Robert Ludlum books - Bourne Identity is one. They do have a lot of violence but also suspense.
