Often because US policies affect us as well as the USA. Either directly or indirectly. For example the US governments decision not to sign the Kyoto agreement. We all decided to sign the agreement to cut down on our green house gas emissions but the US decided against it. Your country produces the most, thereby your decision not to cut down affect s us all in that the air pollution will get worse. This is the only one off the top of my head as I've had a long day and really should be going to bed.

Because US policies affect many areas of the globe (Unfortunately) Maybe if you would have voted John Kerry as president last election the world may like the US a bit more but instead you voted for a deserter in the Vietnam war
George Walker Bush (Who ran every company he was ever involved in into bankruptcy)
I hope you are all pleased with yourselves

I don't think they do, do they? Only if they affect other countries. Then, of course, they might be thinking, why does the US care so much about our policies? Butt out of our country?

Beg pardon? You're on UK answers. Other countries care so much because
1) You refuse to cut down the pollution you kick out over the rest of us. Your behaviour affects us as well.
2) Your CIA have a history of interfering with the stability of other nations (They trained and funded Bin Laden, for example).
3) Your govt has a long history of going to war against smaller nations.

American policies affect the rest of the world, whether you realise it or not. As the world's richest and militarily most powerful country, events there do have repercussions elsewhere.
